About Me

Wow! Is this a hard one to answer quickly. Well, I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, not really into partying. I prefer intimate settings and great conversations with friends. I have recently begun to be pretty health conscious. I am definitely a writer...journaling, stories, letters...I've had pen pals worldwide since I was in the 4th grade. I was living with and caring for my Dad until he passed away in Dec. '08. It was really hard but I did it. Now I'm relishing living alone again and getting refocused on my health and creativities. I stay busy with work and friends so my spare time is STILL limited and probably always will be. I collect unicorns, among other things. I have 3 tattoos (so far). I wouldn't mind meeting someone special, but I'm really not looking right now...if it happens, it happens, however I am complete without that in my life and I am not looking to get involved with younger men, men who want kids or men who already have a bunch of kids. I typically prefer tall dark and latin types. If what you've read so far interests you and you want to know more, add me and you can ask me questions.

Interests

too many to actually list, but a few are: reading, writing, listening to music (esp. latin!!), dancing, hanging out with my friends, gardening, doing crafts...and SO much more!

Favorite Movies

The Last Unicorn...I like comedies and animated the best!

Favorite TV Shows

I like quite a few...right now, my top 2 are Starting Over and Jonny Zero...unfortunately they took JZ off! :*(

Favorite Books

anything by SARK and a lot more. I love to read! NOTE: Every woman on the planet should read Succulent Wild Woman by SARK...check out www.planetsark.com

Favorite Quote

"Everyone needs beauty...places to play in and pray in where nature may heal and cheer and give strength to the body and soul alike." ~John Muir

Hughes Big Red Athletics will be collecting Yoplait PINK Lids until the Volley for the Cure Game on October 11th, in honor of Senior Volleyball player, Bretney Allie as well as current Hughes teachers, Sandy Sullivan and Darius Salehi. All three Hughes family members are currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
You can bring, drop off &/or mail your lids to Hughes up until the day of the game when we will send all the lids off to Yoplait to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Send to Hughes Center High School; ATTN: Jolinda Miller; 2515 Clifton Avenue; Cincinnati, Ohio 45219-1003.
For those of you who haven't caught the earlier announcement:
It is with much excitement that I can finally announce that Hughes will be HOSTING  "VOLLEY FOR A CURE" .
  • On Thursday, October 11th vs. Withrow, the JV game will start at 5:30.
  •     After the JV match, we will honor our 6 volleyball seniors - one of which will be Bretney Allie, a Teaching & Technology student who is herself battling cancer - all while continuing to attend classes and play volleyball!
  •    During the Varsity match, both teams will wear pink uniforms, we will play with a pink ball, the officials/coaches will be in pink - and hopefully - you will too!
  •    The OHSAA has granted us a special "halftime" between the second and third games of the Varsity match. It is at this time that I plan to honor cancer survivors that work for CPS. If you know of anyone, please have them notify me.
  •     Admission this day will be FREE for everyone, although donations to the Susan G. Koman fund will be gladly accepted.
  •      Pink "Volley for a Cure" shirts will be on sale for $5. $4 of this goes to cost and $1 from each shirt sold will benefit the Susan G. Koman Foundation.
  •        I hope to have the tshirts in before the day of the game. If you would like to place an order for your shirt ahead of time, feel free to email me so I can get a more exact count when I order.
  •     Please also, share this information with your students! Many of them know Bretney and her family and I'm sure would love to participate in this event!  I will have flyers up around the school right after Spirit Week next week.
  • I just wanted everyone to have a month's notice so that you can all plan to attend!
Wear your pink to school (or work!) on Thursday October 11th!
And please, that night,
  PACK THE STANDS WITH PINK!
Think of it as "Go Big Pink" that day!!!!!!
AND...
if you would like more information on the Yoplait Pink Lids Campaign, see the information below, complete with a link to Yoplait's site.

You can start collecting pink Yoplait® yogurt lids at the beginning of September 2007. To help the cause, just mail in your lids by December 31, 2007.

Learn more about the Save Lids to Save Lives program.

For every pink lid we receive, we'll donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, up to $1.5 million. And we guarantee a donation of at least $500,000.
